Please note however that if you opt-out of marketing content, we may still send you messages relating to transactions and our Services related to our ongoing business relationship,

Information That we Collect From Website Visitors

Generally, you can visit our Websites and mobile applications without telling us who you are or revealing any information about yourself. When you submit an inquiry to us via any means, register a Tela account, register to attend a Tela event, interact with us on social media, partake in competitions and promotional activities and volunteer information to us, we may collect personal information from you, which may include your name, email address, mobile phone number, banking information, image and other information that identifies you (collectively, “Personal Information”). By providing your Personal Information to us, you expressly agree to our collection, use, storage, and disclosure of such information as described in this Privacy Policy.
As a visitor to our website, we do not collect your Personal Information. However, so we can monitor and improve our website and Services, we may collect non-personally-identifiable information. We will not share or disclose this information with third parties except as a necessary part of providing our Services. We may where applicable, use the information to streamline our advertising process.
As a User, we will also ask you to create login information for your Tela account, such as a username and password. When you provide your mobile phone number, we may ask for your consent for us to send you text messages relating to our Services on that number.
Generally, we collect Personal Information you give us by filling in forms or by communicating with us by phone, email, social media posts and messages, and other mediums.

Tela collects Personal Information only for identified purposes and for which consent has been obtained. Such Personal Information cannot be reused for another purpose that is incompatible with the original purpose, except consent is obtained for such purpose.

We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies, or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

Transfer Of Personal Information

Third Party Processor within Nigeria:
We may engage the services of third parties to process your Personal Information. The processing by such third parties shall be governed by a written contract with us to ensure adequate protection and security measures are put in place by the third party for the protection of Personal Information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Transfer of Personal Information to Foreign Country:
In providing you with the Services, we may rely on third-party servers located in foreign jurisdictions from time to time, which as a result, may require the transfer or maintenance of your Personal Information on computers or servers in foreign jurisdictions.
Where such Personal Information is to be transferred to a country outside Nigeria, we shall put adequate measures in place to ensure the security of such Personal Information. We shall, among other things, confirm whether the country is on the National Information Technology Development Agency (“NITDA”) Whitelist of Countries with adequate data protection laws.
The transfer and subsequent processing of such Personal Information would be in accordance with the provisions of the Nigeria Data Protection Act ("NDPA”) which we comply with. We will therefore only transfer and permit the processing of Personal Information outside of Nigeria where:

  • The transfer and processing are necessary to conclude a contract between us and a third party in your interest;

Data Retention
